Who is Studio Masala
Studio Masala was created with devotion and intention by founder Sophia Tobin.
Sophia fell in love with the practice of yoga many years ago. It supported her when she began moving through difficult times in her life.
To Sophia, yoga is a practice of peeling back layers, being present with reality and returning home to unconditional love for herself and the world around her.
This was the intention for the creation of Studio Masala. A space for Sophia to share, guiding her students back to basics through the power and support of breath and movement.
The studio
Nestled within the Queenscliff Surf Club and cradled by the coastline, Studio Masala’s Shala is a light-filled, open space where the rhythm of the ocean sets the tone for practice. With sweeping views and sea air drifting through, the Shala offers a spacious, grounding environment designed to support community and movement.
Unlike traditional studio settings, this large and airy space invites all bodies to gather, there is no cap on numbers, only an open invitation to come as you are. Whether you're here to move, breathe, or simply be, Studio Masala at Queenscliff holds space for both individual presence and collective energy, fostering a sense of belonging that echoes the ebb and flow of the nearby waves.
